Vhi Benefit changes 31.12.2017 and 01.01.2018. Vhi will make a number of benefit changes across 28 plans on 31 December 2017. Four additional plans will have similar changes from 1 January 2018.

A Maternity Bundle has been added to a number of plans. This bundle comprises 75% cover for a range of benefits up to a maximum of €400, €500 or €600 (depending on the plan). Benefits are:

Maternity Yoga and Pilates classes
One maternity scan
Breastfeeding consultations
Baby massage classes
Baby swim classes
Antenatal course

Additional Maternity Benefits have been added to a number of plans.

Foetal screening
Paediatrician benefit
Vaccinations for Meningitis B and Chicken Pox – up to two inoculations for each per lifetime
Female and male mental health counselling– 10 sessions
New parents food pack – 10 nutritional dinners delivered to your door
Paediatric First aid course

Day-to-day benefits

Day-to-day medical expenses cover on a number of plans has been amended from a cash amount per visit to a percentage amount.

Cancer Care Enhancements

A number of plans will see enhanced benefits for cancer namely full cover for wigs/breast prosthesis, a manual lymph drainage benefit, a psycho-oncology counselling benefit, mammogram cover and a cancer care support benefit.

The outpatient mental health benefit will also be enhanced on a number of plans

Other Benefits

A practise nurse benefit and an STI screening benefit have also been added to a range of plans.
